- Characteristics of the enemy vs. Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 4:22)
- Is it self-serving? Check with others.
- Is it merciful and gracious?
3. What does my church family think of this?
*4. Is this consistent with who God has made me to be?
- God's leading will not contradict what He's gifted you to do. You can be all God shaped you to be.
- SHAPE: Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences.
5. Does it concern my responsibilities?
- If God has asked you to speak to someone, wait. Be patient/pray. Give God the chance to speak directly to them.
- Wait for confirmation from God.
- God usually speaks through you to others without you realizing.
*6. Is this convicting (specific, clear, goes away when you respond) or condemning?
- Revelations 3:19 - God doesn't condemn. Satan lessens sins before you sin, and guilts you later.
*7. Do I sense God's peace about it?
- Satan wants to drive us compulsively. God wants to draw us compassionately.
