Quinoa Crust Pizza

I've used quinoa in a variety of recipes now, from granola to an orange scented chocolate cake (naturally sweetened, gluten & dairy free). The versatility of quinoa continues with this pizza crust - while it doesn't taste like nor have the texture and hold of a traditional pizza crust, this quinoa crust (inspired by my cauliflower crust recipe) is a healthier, fiber & protein rich alternative that may help curb those pizza cravings. In all honesty though, if you really want pizza, just go have the real thing ;)

Recipe: Quinoa Crust Pizza
By: Hannah Claudia (adapted from my Cauliflower Crust Pizza Recipe)

1.5 cups of cooked quinoa
1 egg
1/2 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp of dried oregano
1/2 tsp of garlic powder

(opt: 1/4 cup of cheese, 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast)


1. Whisk the egg with the seasonings.
2. Mix the quinoa with the egg and seasonings until a thick batter forms. (If it's too dry, you can add another egg, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing between each addition).
3. Transfer to and bake at 375*F on a greased, non-stick baking sheet (you can use greased foil, but don't use greased wax paper) for 10 minutes.
4. Add your desired toppings and bake for another 5-7 minutes.
