Homemade Meatballs

My brother's birthday was last week, so I decided to make meatballs since he loooves beef. (any meat, really, but especially beef ).
I was inspired by this pomegranate glazed sticky meatball recipe and came up with this one :) Instead of a sticky glaze. I took some frozen tomato sauce and added a few of my own ingredients to bring it alive.

Recipe: Homemade Meatballs
By: Hannah Claudia
Adapted from Top With Cinnamon

500 grams of ground beef
1 egg
1/3 cup of oat flour
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp oregano
1/2 yellow onion, minced very finely (best to blend in a food processor)
2 cloves of garlic, grated
generous pinch of salt

tomato sauce:
1/2 cup of tomato sauce/tomato puree
2 large tomatoes, cut into chunks
1/2 bell pepper, chopped
1 clove of garlic
2 tsp of oregano
1 tablespoon of sundried tomatoes (packed in oil; include the oil)

1. Add all of the tomato sauce ingredients into a large saucepan. Simmer over medium heat until thickened.
2. Mix the ingredients for the meatballs in a large bowl. Avoid overmixing (no one wants tough meat)
3. Form into golf ball-sized meatballs and place in a greased baking dish.
4. Bake at 350*F for about 25 minutes.
5. Top with some of the tomato sauce (as much/as little as you want)
6. Bake for 5-10 more minutes.
7. Remove from the oven and let them cool a bit before serving.

xoxo, han
