Daily Oatmeal: Banana & Almond Butter






Before I get into the recipe, I just wanted to share a super sweet thing that happened yesterday that really made my day:

so last night was this christmas movie fundraiser that I organized with the help of my co-president. we spent hours each week for the past month working on preparing for this event, and unfortunately, we didn't have the greatest turn out. including ourselves and our volunteers, a total of 27 people came. but regardless, everyone who came did have fun, so we made the best out of what we had.

as the movie was ending, my co-pres, my brother, and i were outside in the hallway cleaning up. a mom, her older son, and her younger son passed by and wanted to buy a few treats. after considering all of his options, the younger son ended up wanting three things but his mom told him to pick two. we just told them to take all three for the price of two since we were expecting to have a ton of leftovers. the older brother was paying, and he decided to just donate three extra dollars to us, which was so sweet. they were just such a sweet family and i was really touched by their generosity and kindness.


now getting into the oatmeal:
this is the oatmeal that i eat EVERYDAY. 
every morning, i cook some oatmeal, stir in some almond butter, and mix in banana slices.
although i loooove peanut butter, almond butter and pecan butter  have much stronger flavors when mixed with oatmeal,
so those are my go-to's for breakfast.

this stuff is so good; i literally dream about this and jump out of bed just to eat this stuff ;)


Recipe: Daily Oatmeal

1/4 cup oats
1/2 cup of almond milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tablespoon of almond butter or pecan butter
1 banana, sliced

:::::::::::::::::::

1. Bring almond milk to a boil.
2. Add cinnamon and oats and cook until the oats have absorbed all of the milk.
3. Mix in the almond/pecan butter to the hot oatmeal and toss it with the banana slices
