Pumpkin Pie Smoothie


HAPPY HALLOWEEN :)

So what are you all doing on your Halloween evening?
I've probably gone trick-or-treating the same number of times I've been to Florida... (5 times?)
so I'm used to staying at home and being the one opening the door, but honestly, it doesn't look like there are gonna be a lot of trick or treaters.

But Halloween is still fun; I even dressed up today ;) (go to yesterday's post for a DIY minion costume)
And it's always a great time to eat all things pumpkin; honestly, it's not fair that grocery stores don't carry pumpkin puree all year round.

So anyways, this smoothie is devoid of all things that the pumpkin spice latte has (except the whole pumpkin part...do they even use real pumpkin puree?) On the flip side, it's full of great things that the pumpkin spice latte doesn't have. Let's get to it:


Recipe: Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

1 cup of almond milk
1 ripe banana (can be frozen if you want)
1/2 cup of pumpkin puree
1 tsp cinnamon (or more if you'd like)
1/4 cup of pecans (toast it for more flavor if you have the time)
opt: pumpkin pie spice/nutmeg/clove/ginger

1. Blend everything up and enjoy :)




I personally find this smoothie to be perfectly sweet with just the banana, but if you want some extra sweetness, then add a date or a tablespoon of maple syrup, but it really doesn't need it ;) And of course, if you're allergic to nuts, just omit the pecans! I like the thickness that the pecans add; you can even swap out the pecans and add a tablespoon or two (or like five) of pecan butter :) !
