Baked Broccoli


i was that weird kid who loved broccoli. 
no worries though, there were still plenty of vegetables that i couldn't stand: brussel sprouts, onions, peppers, bittermelon, cabbage...
now, i like onions and peppers (occasionally cabbage if it's raw in a salad but NOT COOKED- blech), but i still don't like brussel sprouts or bittermelon. 

while i do like broccoli, it gets boring after just eating it steamed for so long, so here's a fun way to eat broccoli that brings new textures & flavors to this vegetable :)




Recipe: Baked Broccoli

1.5-2 cups of broccoli florets (uncooked)
a few tablespoons of olive oil
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
3 cloves of garlic (mine were small), minced

(opt: 1 tomato, a few pearl onions)

1. Preheat the oven to 400*F.
2. Toss the broccoli in the olive oil, spices, and garlic.
3. Spread the broccoli out on a cooling rack (this way you don't have to worry about flipping the broccoli halfway through)
4. opt: With any extra olive oil/garlic/spices in the bowl, coat the tomatoes/onions.
5. Bake for about 17-20 minutes or until bits are golden brown/crispy
