Sometimes Change is Necessary

Let's be honest. I think it's safe to say that most people don't like change.
Why change something that's perfect? Why fix something that's not broken?
When we're forced to change and move on to something new,
we begin to regret not appreciating the old thing.
It's like the song "Let Her Go" by Passenger;
you only miss the sun when it starts to snow.
The first stage of change is regret and the realization
that the former was absolutely perfect, no matter what you may have said in the past
about wishing that things could be different.

I've had to learn (the hard way) that when you have no choice but to move on,
it's best to just keep the past as a good memory.
Going back won't make things better, because as you change, so does everything else.
What you miss and had to move on from most likely changed too,
so going back to it won't be the same.
It'll actually hurt to see what you used to love change.

So when you do have to move on,
even though you may not want to,
even though everything may seem perfect,
just keep in mind that it's best to keep the past as a treasured memory.
Whatever you have to move on to will get better.
It may not seem like it at first, but you'll learn that whatever's new was meant for you.
It just takes time.

xoxo, Hannah
